Rules for "General"

"General" is game with dices , popuplar in Puerto Rico as Generala. It is well known also as "Cheerio", "Yot" , "Yam" and the commercial "Yahtzee". This games have slight differences from each other, mainly on the way of forming the result.

In our variation of "General" it is playing with 5 dices. Every turn consists of minimum 1 and maximum 3 throws as in the first throw you play with all the 5 dices and in the additional 2 two throws you can decided to throw all or only some of the dices. After every throw you have the right to choose which dices you want to throw again. When the 3rd throw has finished (or earlier if you wish) you have to choose a combination from the table in which to write the result.

The table with results consists of 2 parts - numerical part and combinations:

Правила на Генерал
The numerical part consists of numbers from 1 to 6.

  • For every number you need to throw as much dices with this number as possible. Your result is formed by multiplying the number with the dices from your throw having it. For example if you throw 3 twos - 3x2 = 6 points
  • If you throw 4 of the same dices - you write 4x the dice number (4x3 = 12 , 4x5 = 20 and etc.)
  • If you throw 5 of the same - you write 5x the dice number (5x5 = 15 , 5x6 = 30 and etc.)
  • If you have thrown none of the required number you write 0 points.
  • You may write once in each row of the table.

In the combination part you write the sum of the dices that consist in this combination. The combinations are as follows:
  • 2 of a kind - two dices with the same number. They give you the sum of the two highest equal dices. For example 2 sixes will give you 12;
  • 3 of a kind - three dices with same number. The result is formed by the sum of the three equal dices.
  • 4 of a kind - four dices with same number. The result is formed by the sum of the four equal dices. For example 4 sixes will give you 4x6 = 24 points.
  • Full house - combination of 3 equal with 2 equal dices. For example 3 sixes and 2 threes = 24 points (Note: it is allowed the Full house to consist of 5 equal dices )
  • Small straight - combinatino of 5 dices with numbers from one to five will give you result of 15 points. (It is not required to be thrown in some order , only to consist the numbers from one to five)
  • Big straight - combination of 5 dices with numbers from two to six will give you 20 points. (It is not required to be thrown in some order , only to consist the numbers from twp to six)
  • Chance - sum of the 5 dices without any requirements.
  • General - combination of five equal dices. The points you will get are the sum of the dices plus a bonus of 50. For example 5 sixes are 5x6 = 30 + 50p. bonus = 80 points. (Note: you will get the bonus only if they are written in this field. If you write 5 equal to another place you will not get any bonus.)

Every combination can be used only once in a game. If you have not thrown the required combination for the field you are writing in you will get 0 points and cannot use it anymore for that game. After each throw the result of the player is automatically updated and shows the temporary result. Once you complete all the numerical and combination fields the game is over and this result is final. This result is used for the Monthly and General ranking. Once finished the game you can start another one.

Rules for Duels on "General"

The main difference in the challenges is that you play "General" against real opponent. Your goal is to reach higher results than the one of your opponent. The challenges are played on the same rules as "General" with the difference that the two players are throwing one after another.

The end of the game is when both players have filled all their fields in the tables. After the end of the game you are getting a win , tie or lose.

(Statistics for your challenges games can be found in your Profile.)

Limitations

You can play unlimited challenges. There is only limitation for the count of active games against one opponent. You have the right to play 3 active challenges against the same person. "Active" means that you have either send challenge , being challenged by the other player or the game is accepted and not yet finished.

It is not necessary to play the challenge at once. Challenges as well as the games on "General" can be played with breaks. It is not required to play it without stop. You can play several challenges at once or to play a challenge and a single game at the same time.

Challenge denials

You can deny some of your challenges at any time. There are few options depending on the phase of the challenge you want to deny.
Challenge ( you have challenged or been challenged by someone) - in this phase the denial does not count as lose.
It is playing ( the game has already started ) - if you give up from active challenge this is counted as a lose and your opponent will get a win.

Good luck and have fun,
team of Rollantida
